We soon found his lieutenant, Scott. Mrs. Pierce went to find her husband and asked Scott to speak with me. Dr. Pierce soon arrived. We went to his office to speak. I gave him pages from this book about Gordon Press, plus computer printouts from the Books In Print data-base, and emphasized that I believed a government agency was falsely claiming to publish his book. He read these pages rather quickly, taking notice of those sections discussing Turner Diaries. He took an interest in my reference to the British National Party contact who referred to his book as "criminal". I mentioned that they have to be more careful of what they say in England than he does in America because of different laws there. Dr. Pierce said that it was not necessary for the BNP agent to say what he did.
After checking the printed edition of Books in Print, he was curious about this second entry for his book. It was disappointing however that, unlike the librarian from the Library of Congress, this outspoken job function email list critic of government did not seem to view a phenomenon. He approached the issue in a very rational manner, asking why the government would want to create such a phantom publisher. I mentioned my belief that America is becoming an overt totalitarian society and that Gordon Press is just one manifestation of this, and that the U.S. Post Office has been involved in similar operations. I showed him an article from USA Today supporting this point. He found the newspaper story relevant and made a joke about it, but did not view what I was saying as especially significant.
Considering his extreme views, it seemed likely that the government monitors his telephone and mail. He said that in the past the government has tapped his phone, but informed him in a lawful manner explaining that they were seeking a fugitive (I believe it was Robert Matthews), and that when their objective was accomplished they discontinued monitoring his phone. He said that he had no difficulty with either telephone or mail, and that he could not carry out his operation without them. If the government is so totalitarian, why do they allow such an adversary as himself to stay in business? It was surprising to hear one of America's leading revolutionaries playing devil's advocate for the government.
Gordon/Revisionist Press as that disturbing
