Obvious sources for finding customer reviews
The most obvious and easiest way to get feedback is to find “digital” reviews on social media, review websites, or personal blogs.
Social Media Platforms
Social media is usually a good starting point for finding feedback. Twitter is especially good because, unlike other social media, it is an open platform. Anyone can access the information, regardless of whether they are registered. And a simple hashtag search allows businesses to sort through and get interesting responses that they might otherwise miss.
Facebook can be useful for small businesses, too. It’s where 66% of customers are willing to share their opinions about a particular business. Facebook groups specific to your location or industry are worth checking out, but for up-to-date information, direct searches can be much more useful.
You can search for yourself in the social network by the company name and filter by the type "messages from all". The system will show you all the mentions of the business made by users, including reviews, check-ins or photos indicating the location of your office.
Don't forget about VKontakte, a large Russian social network. Here, users are quite open in their statements about products and services. Just like on Facebook, you can filter hashtags in the search by the name of your company. However, don't forget that VKontakte is a more entertaining network, so you will have to filter the entries significantly.
Why are social networks so good at getting feedback? It’s all about the fact that the opinions that users express really belong to those who express them. They are as unbiased as possible and say what they think about the brand, because no one forces them to give feedback.
Internet monitoring
Social media not useful? Use basic tools like Google Alerts. When set up correctly, they will notify you of every relevant mention of your company, brand, product, service, and other information related to you on the web.
However, using Google Alerts will require you to think outside the box. For example, it can be helpful to include terms about your direct competitors in your search, especially if you are new to the business without an established customer base. This technique is called “social listening.” It will show you what your customers are good at and what they are doing incorrectly.
