Government Support for Producers in Crisis: Available Resources

These initiatives aim to provide financial aid, technical support, and infrastructure development to help producers recover and sustain their operations. The loans come with a 13% flat service charge and flexible repayment options over 12 to 24 months.

Financial Assistance and Loans
Agrosor Loan Program: Also facilitated by CARB, this program provides loans between Tk 5,000 and Tk 60,000 to small and marginal farmers for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and covering irrigation costs.

Supported by the government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), this project focuses on promoting high-value, nutrition-rich crops in climate-vulnerable regions.It provides training on modern farming methods, post-harvest management, and value chain development.

Agricultural Sector Loan Program:

In response to natural disasters like floods, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) collaborates with the government to distribute agricultural inputs such as seeds and fertilizers to affected farmers.For instance, following the 2023 floods in Chattogram Division, FAO distributed agricultural packages to 33,000 smallholder farmers.
