PEGN releases the list of the most promising companies in the Brazilian innovation ecosystem .

Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios reveals, this Monday (10/9), the 100 Startups to Watch 2023 , the annual list that highlights the most promising businesses in Brazil's innovation ecosystem. In its sixth edition, the initiative brings together the hottest technology-based companies with great potential to grow in the coming years.

Between May and July, 2,076 startups signed up for 100 STW, a project california business email list by P equenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios and Época NEGÓCIOS , in partnership with consultancies Elogroup and Innovc. The companies were evaluated based on their level of innovation, market potential, business and scalability, team and solution maturity.

This year, diversity gained even more space than in the previous edition: half of the 200 startups that passed to the final evaluation had to have 50% or more of their shareholders with diversity characteristics (declaring themselves black, brown, yellow or indigenous; female; LGBTQIAP+; or a person with a disability). As a result, the number of companies with more than half of the partners with some diversity characteristic among the 100 selected jumped from 29% in 2022 to 44% in 2023.

A team of 59 ambassadors spread across Brazil helped increase geographic diversity. Among the 100 selected, there was a 66.7% increase in startups from the Northeast and 50% from the Central-West.

The 100 Startups to Watch 2023 were selected by a committee made up of representatives from organizations, investment funds and public development initiatives, as well as journalists from Editora Globo.
