What is Motivation?
First, it is important to define what motivation is and understand how this phenomenon occurs. In
short, we can explain it as a force that drives someone to perform a certain action . It is fundamental in our lives, helping us to do tasks that are not always the most fun, but that we know will have some kind of reward at the end.
Like standing in line for hours to watch your favorite band's concert, studying a
subject in depth instead of going out with friends, or braving the cold and rain to go to work - there is a reason for all of this that makes people perform these actions: this is motivation.
Another important point is that it is possible to divide motivation into two categories:
Intrinsic motivation :
That which comes from the individual himself and is generally linked to internal issues such as character, tastes, skills and habits, where the person seeks his personal development;
Extrinsic motivation:
One that comes from the environment and external situations, which are not under the individual's control, but still influence their decisions. This type is generally linked to issues such as ego, rewards and status.
