Honestly, we expected more from Toys “R” Us. While the giraffe image is cute, it’s a bit too clip art-like, and multiple CTAs can be confusing. We like that the company thanks its visitors, but this email could have been spiced up with the addition of product images and engaging copy.

We’re surprised that more brands aren’t using meme-style designs for their abandoned cart email strategy. This cute puppy grabs our attention right away. “Why did you abandon me?” the headline begs you to click the CTA below this screenshot and make overseas chinese in europe data a purchase. Here’s a great example from clothing brand BlackMilk.

Many examples of abandoned cart emails use the idea that the consumer just forgot to pay. It is assumed. Instead of implying that the customer didn’t want the item, you are taking the position that the product is extremely desirable. Pacsun does a great job with copy and imagery that creates urgency.
